We recently had the pleasure of working with Dramalove, an up-and-coming alternative rock band, to assist them with an exciting opportunity. The band was preparing to submit an entry into an online competition, and as part of their submission, they needed to participate in a Skype call.
This was no ordinary call—it was a crucial part of the competition process that could pave the way for them to perform live at a prestigious gig in New York City. Dramalove reached out to us to provide a high-quality, multi-camera setup to ensure that their Skype call was as professional and polished as their music.
For this project, we provided a 3-camera package that allowed us to capture different angles and perspectives during the Skype call. A multi-camera approach was necessary to ensure that the band’s energy and presence were fully conveyed, even through the relatively limiting format of a video call. Each camera was strategically positioned to highlight various aspects of the band’s interaction and setup, creating a dynamic visual experience for the judges of the competition.
Front-facing camera – This was the primary camera focused on the entire band during the Skype call. Positioned directly in front of Dramalove, it provided a clear, head-on view of all members as they introduced themselves, discussed their music, and interacted with the competition’s organizers. This straightforward angle was essential for ensuring that the band’s professionalism and enthusiasm came across effectively.
Close-up camera on lead singer – Since the lead singer often represents the band’s voice, both literally and figuratively, we dedicated a second camera to focus on them. This camera zoomed in on the lead singer during key moments of the call, adding an intimate feel to their responses. It allowed the judges to see the personality and passion behind the band’s music, which was important for making a lasting impression.
Drums – We included a third camera that capture the Bands drummer.
The Skype call itself was a pivotal moment for Dramalove, as it played a significant role in the selection process for the competition. The 3-camera setup allowed us to ensure that every important interaction was captured from multiple angles, giving the band the opportunity to shine in front of the competition judges. The band members were able to present themselves professionally, answer questions with confidence, and show their enthusiasm for the potential opportunity to perform in New York.
After the call, we worked on editing the footage to create a seamless final product, ensuring smooth transitions between the different camera angles. The goal was to provide a polished recording that the band could submit as part of their official competition entry. The multi-camera approach added depth and visual interest to what could have been a straightforward Skype call, helping Dramalove stand out from the competition.

We worked with ERIC & THE CLAPTONES, capturing their live performance using a 4-camera setup for dynamic, high-quality footage. This multi-angle recording enhanced their digital presence, serving their website and social media. Their rendition of “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” was a standout moment.
Recently, we had the exciting opportunity to work with the tribute band ERIC & THE CLAPTONES, a talented group dedicated to capturing the spirit and music of Eric Clapton. They reached out to us to record one of their live stage performances, which promised to be an electrifying event full of classic rock hits. Our goal was to deliver a high-quality multi-camera recording that would enhance their digital presence, serving both their website and social media platforms.
4 – Camera Setup
The band specifically requested a 4-camera setup, allowing for a dynamic and comprehensive capture of their live performance from multiple angles. This approach ensured that viewers would not only see the band from various perspectives but also feel immersed in the show’s energy. The challenge was to offer this multi-camera package at an affordable price, making it accessible to the band without compromising on quality.
Old Barn Theater – Oxted
For the event, we strategically positioned the four cameras to cover every critical aspect of the performance:
Front-center camera – This main camera captured the full band in a wide shot, ensuring the audience could take in the entire performance at once. It provided a stable, central view of the band, highlighting key moments when the whole group was playing together.
Close-up camera on drummer – we placed a second camera in close proximity to the Drummer this angle allowed capturing the soul and beat of the performance.
Side-stage camera – To add variety and dynamism, we positioned a third camera off to the side of the stage. This camera focused on the interaction between band members, providing an interesting angle of the bassist, drummer, and rhythm guitarist. It gave viewers a sense of the band’s chemistry and unity, which is crucial for any tribute band recreating the synergy of the original artist.
Crowd and atmosphere camera – Finally, the fourth camera was dedicated to capturing the Atmosphere on stage and capturing special moments with the band on stage. this angle really helped to add energy to the video.
Working with a local tribute band like ERIC & THE CLAPTONES was a delightful departure from the norm. Their vibrant posters adorned every available surface, creating a buzz around the upcoming gig. The whole experience felt surreal as if we had stepped into a different world.

Once the performance was recorded, we moved on to the post-production phase. We edited the footage to create a polished final product, ensuring smooth transitions between angles and capturing the essence of the band’s tribute to Eric Clapton. The team worked closely with the band to understand which moments were most important to highlight and how they envisioned the final cut.
The footage will serve as a foundation for ERIC & THE CLAPTONES’ new website and will also be repurposed for their social media content. A tribute band like this thrives on engaging with their fans, and having high-quality, multi-angle video content is crucial for building a strong online presence. The recorded performance will help them showcase their talents, attract new fans, and book future gigs.
One of the standout moments from the recording session was their cover of “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door“, a song that holds a special place in the rock canon. The band’s rendition was heartfelt, and the multi-camera setup allowed us to capture the emotion of the performance beautifully. From the sweeping guitar solos to the crowd’s response, the footage from this song is a perfect example of the high-quality content we produced.
